Move Furniture from the Walls

Here is something most people assume is the wrong thing to do, but it’s not. When you have a small space, move the furniture away from the walls to create the look of spaciousness. Most assume that pushing furniture up against walls will make the space appear larger, but it does not. Move it and you will be amazed just how much larger your room looks.

Paint the Walls a Light Color

Darker colors make any room look smaller, even a nice big room. When you choose a light color instead, it reflects light that causes the room to look larger. If you want to go a step further, paint the ceiling as well. This will create the illusion of a taller, therefore larger, room.
