25 Things You Never Knew About Some Popular Movies

1 – Scream was originally titled Scary Movie.

The slasher film from the late 90s (written by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven) starring Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, and Neve Campbell wasn’t always called Scream.

Williamson wanted a simple name that summed up what the movie was about, hence Scary Movie. But shortly before the cast had finished filming the name was changed to Scream, allegedly because of a love of the Michael Jackson song of the same name. The production company kept the rights to the name Scary Movie and later gave it to the Wayans Brothers to use for their spoof of Scream.
