Tosa Inu

This dog can grow to be huge. The average weight for this breeds ranges from 130 all the way to 200 pounds. They are some of the biggest dogs in the world. This dog can also grow to be 32 inches in height. This size can be intimidating to many people. If provoked it can easily overpower a person or another dog. This dog was once bred for fighting and due to this, the dog is considered to be dangerous. It is even restricted to own this breed in some countries. A person cannot legally own or breed this dog.

This breed has a huge head and has been known to have more lean muscle tissue than any other type of dog. When a person looks at this dog they often see nothing but muscle. Boer Boel

The Boer Boel is one of the larger breeds of mastiffs and was bred for the purposes of protecting the home. You may also know this breed as the South African Mastiff. Many people would keep these as guard dogs, and as working farm dogs. This dog was considered to be the first line of home defense and loves to track down game. These dogs are very loyal and very protective of their families, but their size, strength and temperament can pose a problem. Recently a 59 year old North Carolina woman was killed by her Boer Boel and when the police responded to the 911 call they were met by the dog at the door, who would not let them enter the home.

The Gull Dong breed is also known as the Pakistani Bull Dog. It is a mixture of the gull terrier and the bully kutta mixed together. This dog is another very strong and powerful breed. The Gull Dong has also been historically bred for the purposes of fighting. While it is an affectionate breed, it has a reputation of being aggressive especially towards strangers. Basenji

The Basenji is originally from Central Africa (Congo) and is considered to be a sight hound. The dog is very alert, curious by nature, and can even be affectionate. This is a very large breed of dog and it was first from the Swiss and the Italian Alps. This breed was once a rescue dog and they are very large in size. Fila Brasileiro

The Fila Brasileiro is also known as the Brazilian Mastiff, and is one of the largest dogs to come out of the country of Brazil. It has great tracking abilities but it can be on the aggressive side. They were raised on large plantations, and taught to chase down cattle, jaguars, other animals and runaway slaves. Unfortunately some of these instincts remain today, and in young dogs you might notice that while playing they like to latch their jaw onto the neck of their opponent.

The Perro De Presa Canario was originally bred for working with livestock. This is a Spanish breed of dog and the name translates “Canarian catch dog”. Just like other dangerous dogs, they need to be socialized early in their life and need intensive obedience training. Pitbull

The Pitbull breed is from the same family as the American bull terrier and they were once bred for bating bulls and bears. They have been used for dog fighting in many parts of the World, and as a result these dogs are strong and muscular. These dogs have been feared for years but some owners swear that there are no bad pitbulls, just bad owners. These dogs were once used to protect the livestock on a farm. This breed is assertive, aggressive, and they can be strong-willed. If they are not trained properly from the time of a puppy they can become ferocious. They may also develop some habits that are unmanageable.
