Three Work Moves You Will Never Regret Making

work

It often feels to many working Americans that you are not in control of your own career. That mindset is a killer. You are in control of your own career. You have every opportunity to do what you want to do for a living and to be the success you’ve always imagined; all you have to do is make it happen. The problem is that most people are happy to dream and discuss and imagine, but they aren’t so keen to do. And doing is what makes things happen. If you are thinking of making a career move that might change your life, why not? We think that there are several different career moves that you will never, ever regret throughout the course of your life. What are they? Read on to find out.

Get outside your comfort zone

Sometimes we get comfortable. Comfort is nice, but only when you are in bed or traveling in First Class. Otherwise, comfort can be a bit lazy. When you make the decision to get outside your comfort zone at work, you have no idea how many doors and windows you’re opening up that might just have opportunity standing on the other side waiting for you to invite it right into your life. If you do something that makes you uncomfortable every day, you’re going places.

Forget the money

Money is important; I know. We need it to live. However, sometimes you have to give up a job that makes you totally miserable because of the money. Sometimes money is far less important than happiness and even your health. At the end of your life, you’re not going to look back with regret over the shoes you weren’t able to afford or the new furniture you didn’t get at one point in your life. But you will love the time you got to spend doing something that makes you feel good.

Keeping your relationships intact

Listen, you might look so forward to the day you can walk out of your office and tell that annoying coworker precisely where to shove it, but don’t. The world is a very small place, and burning bridges is always a bad idea. As much as you dislike people or their ideas, be respectful and professional. You never know when that person might show back up in your life as someone you need.
